With cold weather forecast, I couldn’t have had a more timely reminder of the need to stay stafe, than the email this week from my colleagues in Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service about the dangers of thatch and chimney fires.

They are bringing their Thatch and Chimney Road Show to Clare to provide advice and tips to property onwers on keeping their buildings safe and avoiding risking their lives and those of their neighbours – if you live in a thatched house, or have an open fire or woodburner – do please come along and find out how to stay safe.
