Yesterday my colleague SCC leader, Colin Noble, began his series of Suffolk high street events. On this occasion, he was at The Arc in Bury St Edmunds town centre. Colin and Cllr Sarah Stamp, Cabinet member for Communities, along with other officials spent from 10am and 2pm listening to people’s views and answering any questions.
This is the first in a series fortnightly visits.
If you have something on your mind and want to ask Colin about local matters or anything affecting your life in Suffolk, please come along, say hello…. take aim and fire your question!
You will see from the info below that Colin is in the Clare area on 18 July when he hits Haverhill.. He has asked me to join him … but its the day of the Stansfield Fete so it will be a no show from me in Haverhill.
I hope at some point we can get him out in the smaller market towns – Clare for instance – and even in some of the larger villages.
As we know all too well in these parts not everyone can get into town easily. I expect any conversation around here would centre on infrastructure: roads, broadband, mobile reception and public transport.
Talking ahead of the ‘We Are Listening’ event, Colin said: “I want to get out there and meet our communities across the county, speaking to residents who care passionately about Suffolk. I want to hear about the things that are close to people’s hearts, to find out what issues are at the top of their agenda and what they want to see happening locally.”
